In penultimate match of the 2018/2019 season, STK lost against relegated Inter.
In Stupava we didn´t see very nice football. Inter tried their possession-based football, but STK had more dangerous situations in front of goal. In first half Almási, Štrbák and Magda were close to scoring. However, Inter took the lead in second half, after Issa´s deflected ball ended up in Hajdúch´s net. Coach Sanjin Alagić substituted Luquinhas by Pančík who scored an equalizer few minutes after. Inter took the lead after another deflected ball. STK pushed for draw but Šulc from a rare counter-attack doubled the home side´s lead. In dying minutes Almási scored from penalty but there was no time left for STK to score another one. “Despite the situation in table, both sides wanted to win today. We were a bit more dangerous in some periods of the match, but the opponent was more effective. We wanted to boos the team by substitutions, but it wasn´t enough to win today. Performances of our young players were a positive thing about today, we want to build on that,” Sanjin Alagić said after the match. His team faces only one more challenge, on Saturday 25 May at 17:00 STK hosts FK Pohronie in a match which can decide the second-league title race.
